With its solid experience in coproduction, Tarantula in Luxembourg and Belgium centres its editorial policy around a successful script and good human relationships between producers and directors. To see these artistically ambitious projects through to fruition, Tarantula combines its expertise with that of other European countries. Its first feature film which was noticed in the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival (in Un Certain Regard), “A Piece of sky” by Bénédicte Liénard, opened the way to international opportunities for Tarantula. Since then, Tarantula has been contributing to the vitality of audio-visual production with films like “Private Property” by Joachim Lafosse, “Carré Blanc” by Jean-Baptiste Leonetti, “Mobile Home” by François Pirot, films co-produced by the two companies as well as “Frères d’Exil” by Yilmaz Arslan (winner of the Silver Leopard at Locarno in 2004), co-produced by Tarantula Luxembourg and “Batalla en El Cielo” by Carlos Reygadas and “Congorama” by Philippe Falardeau, co-produced by Tarantula Belgium.
Since 2011, TARANTULA DISTRIBUTION has supported the release of films in Luxembourg to promote them as effectively as possible to a targeted audience. Alongside this, Joseph Rouschop was involved in setting up CUISTAX in Belgium which provides promotion right from the shooting stage of the film, using existing tools to maximum impact in creating an air of anticipation for the film’s release. In 2013, Tarantula Luxembourg joined forces with five production companies in Luxembourg to create the FILMLAND studios which bring together on one site more than 4000 m2 film studios, production offices and post-production services.
